Dark and Stormy Eggnog Latte

Spiked with rum and fresh ginger, this café latte makes a wonderful cocktail that spreads holiday cheer.

What you need

1 1/2 cups eggnog
4 tsp strips orange rind (2-inch/5 cm lengths)
2 oz dark rum
1/2 cup whipped cream
1 pinch ground ginger

How to prepare

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat milk over medium-low heat, heat eggnog and ginger, stirring often, for 3 to 5 minutes or until steaming. Strain through a fine sieve and whisk with a frother or hand blender until frothy.*Alternatively, microwave eggnog and ginger on high in a micro-wave safe cup for 60 to 90 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds or until steaming.
  2. Divide brewed coffee and rum between 2 mugs. Pour frothed eggnog mixture over coffee, top with whipped cream and garnish with ginger.
