Spiced Masala Coffee

Steeped with fragrant masala spices, this comforting coffee can be served any time of day.

What you need

6 cardamom pods, cracked
6 peppercorns
1 tsp minced fresh ginger
1/4 tsp fennel seeds
1/2 cup steamed oat milk
2 tbsp brown sugar

How to prepare


  1. Stir together coffee, cardamom, peppercorns, ginger and fennel. Let steep for 5 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, heat milk and brown sugar in small saucepan set over medium heat, stirring often, for 3 to 5 minutes or until starting to simmer.
  3. Stir in coffee mixture; cook for about 1 minute or until heated through. Strain; divide between 2 mugs.



Steep with 1-inch (2.5 cm) long piece of cinnamon stick, as well, if desired.
